OK, you can stop pounding your drinks on the table. Here's
what's happening in the Barrel world.
Roll out the Barrel
First
of all, thanks to everyone out there for your support and
kind words. As many of you know, Nekromantik
was our first step into the world of DVD production. The response
has been overwhelming, and we hope to continue the standard
with many more lavish releases in the future.
Nekro hit the streets in June and the first pressing is nearly
sold out (we only have about 100 pieces left sitting here).
We will most likely repress in the near future, but if you
haven't picked up the disc yet, check out the online ordering
links for information on how to get your copy now. There is
still a limited number of signed and numbered Nekromantik
DVDs for sale directly from Barrel. They go for $40.00 and
are available only through us. Do yourself a favor and pick
one up before they're gone forever.
"Today I am dirty, but tomorrow I'll be just dirt."
All of you Nekromantik fans out there should get ready for
a deluxe special edition of Jörg Buttgereit's masterpiece,
Schramm. When we say deluxe,
we mean deluxe. Barrel's release was struck from producer
Manfred Jelinski's original 16mm negative. Rest assured, the
film will never look better. Manfred has also provided us
with a brand new stereo sound mix. For all you purists out
there, the original mono track will also be included. But
that's not all. You can look forward to two audio commentary
tracks. The first is courtesy of director Jörg Buttgereit
and co-writer Franz Rodenkirchen. The second comes straight
from stars Florian Korerner von Gustorf and Monika M themselves!
Can't get enough? We've also included two early Buttgereit
shorts (Mein Papi and Captain Berlin) as well as over 100
photos, trailers, promotional artwork, and much, much more.
Schramm is just around the corner, hammer in hand, so brace
yourselves. This one will blow you away!
Check out the Releases page for more info on this upcoming
disc.
Until next time,
